Pre-Purchase Checklist

  • Use this quick checklist to confirm Opt My Strategy (OMS) is the right fit for your trading journey. Better to check now than subscribe and later discover it doesn’t meet your needs.

Check the following:

  • MetaTrader required: OMS works only with the MetaTrader MT4 & MT5 Strategy Testers. If you don’t use MetaTrader, you cannot use OMS.
    Why? MetaTrader handles the mechanics of backtests and optimizations-something it is exceptionally strong at. OMS adds advanced analysis and best-practice decision-support-something that MetaTrader is not designed to do. When used together, MetaTrader and OMS provide you with a professional-grade backtesting and optiomization platform.
  • EA source code needed: OMS requires small code snippets to be added to your Expert Advisor. You must therefore have the source file (.mq4 or .mq5). If you only have a compiled file (.ex4 or .ex5), OMS cannot be used.
  • Platform support: The initial release (Dec 2025) supports MT5 only. MT4 support is planned for Jan/Feb 2026. If you use MT4, please contact us for an update before purchasing.

Also be aware of:

  • OMS does not provide Expert Advisors or trading strategies. You must develop your own or purchase an EA, and you’ll need its source code.
  • OMS does not operate in live trading. It works exclusively with the MetaTrader Strategy Tester using a simulated account.
  • OMS does not provide financial advice or trading signals.
